Description

As the region and the country return to work, the construction industry is incorporating pandemic precautions which will be part of our new way of life. Construction projects are restarting, being reimagined, and facing new requirements imposed by various governing agencies, much of which changes from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. This webinar focuses on COVID-19 impacts to both the construction schedule and legal contracts, and provides insight identifying and reducing potential risks.

Presenters:

Paul Gabriel | Regional Vice President | Aegis Project Controls

Paul Gabriel joined Aegis in August of 2006 and is currently the Regional Vice President of Aegis’ Philadelphia office. Mr. Gabriel’s resume includes some of the biggest and most complex projects in the country. His focus has been on large, fast-track, design-build or IPD projects that require intense project controls facilitation. Mr. Gabriel has worked with general contractors, federal government, construction managers, owners and architects/engineers. He knowledge and experience in large projects are often sought after during the pre-construction phase, recovery efforts, and facilitation of Last Planner sessions.

Mr. Gabriel graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Criminal Justice. He is an accredited member of AACE and has his certificate of management in Lean Construction from the AGC. He lives in Philadelphia with his wife and two young sons.

Patrick Kingsley | Chair, Construction & Alternative Dispute Resolution | Stradley Ronon

Patrick Kingsley has tried more than 40 cases involving diverse legal claims and fact patterns in several different forums across the country. As a trial lawyer, he has tried both jury and non-jury cases and has represented clients in arbitrations, mediations and hearings before administrative law judges and referees. Patrick is a fellow of the American College of Civil Trial Mediators. He has also served as an adjunct professor at Rutgers University School of Law, instructing students on trial advocacy skills.

Patrick handles a wide variety of complex commercial disputes, focusing much of his practice on construction, surety and fidelity litigation. He represents owners, contractors, subcontractors, design professionals, sureties and building product suppliers in construction disputes involving claims for delay, unforeseen site conditions, poor workmanship, defective materials, design errors, liquidated damages, mechanics’ liens, change orders, lost productivity, bid protests, warranty claims, performance bond claims, payment bond claims and indemnity claims.
